By this understanding you can earn a new sense of acceptance when you see someone with an unusual drilling.

Some in the older generations just don't understand why adolescents or young adults would want to put holes in their body in unusual places. This same generation will easily accept a unique pierced earring or a ring on the finger, but have difficulty with a piercing of the tongue or ear plug or even multiple piercings in the lobe.

But rest assured the world is not "Hell in a handbasket" as an elderly woman commented. However, it is more willing to express themselves through bodies of jewellery. In addition, at a given time, this same higher generation was considered rebels in their own right by listening to jazz, alcohol or dancing to rock and roll.

The top five reasons that people wear piercing today include:

Fashion - the availability of various types of jewelry available for virtually every part of human anatomy, is a nice improvement to the fashion styles available.

Some young American can request a connection through the port of jewellery in a certain area or a certain style, which is indicative of the roots of their family they celebrate.

Status symbol - the history of piercing includes wear certain types of jewellery or precious metals to show to the outside of the family to pay or position. This is in practice.

To make a statement — this statement may be political, social, or fashion related. In all cases, the person is choosing to express their thoughts through their choice of piercing. It is really not different than a person wearing a t-shirt with a quote, or a picture representing a concert or event, they attended. This is a statement about the trip that the individual is on.
